This widowed client came in to see us and was finalizing his estate plan. We didn’t see it happen, but the next thing we saw was this husband looking at a picture of his wife with such immense love. Moments like these crystallize the fact that the spiritual ties to loved ones are never broken, even after one partner loses the other. Seeing this made me tear up, so I asked permission to capture this image of my widowed client to share as a reminder to all of us – which is that the support and comfort we find in each other remains, even after one departs this earth to embark on their next journey.

Lesson always learned: Hug each other, in the flesh, any time you can.
