Candace Hance

I was born in Florida, but I grew up in Burlington, NC. In my senior year of high school, my dad's job transferred us to Raleigh, NC. After graduating, I met my husband. We have been married for 30 years, and we have two wonderful sons.

I attended classes in Business Management at a Community College in Smithfield, NC. Raising two small sons made it very difficult to pursue further education. I was fortunate to receive the opportunity for hands-on experience and training in the healthcare field as a Unit Secretary and Office Management positions. I served as a point of contact for the nursing units and coordinated patient services. I have always been passionate about helping people and worked in places where I was able to be of service to others every day.

In 2017, my father-in-law fell ill. I was called upon to become his caregiver. In that role, I was able to spend 24-hours a day with him, and I cherished every second of our time together. In the last two months of his life, I provided him with the best care, love, and compassion and saw the impact my presence made. This experience changed my life forever and deepened my respect for aging adults.

I like making people smile and find joy in doing little things to make someone's day better. I find helping others to be very rewarding. It gives me a sense of pride, knowing that I have made a difference in someone's life. I feel very blessed to be a part of Helayne Levy Payne's team at the Elder Law Life Care Planning Center. My passion in life has been, and will always be, helping others.

During my downtime, I enjoy spending time with my family and my little dog Abby.
